Georgia qualifies for the first time in the history of the European Championship

In the playoffs of Group C of the 2024 European Championship qualifiers, Georgia defeated Greece 4-2 on penalties, securing their spot in the main tournament.

This marks the first time in Georgia's history that they have reached the finals of the European Championship or any continental tournament. It's also a milestone for Napoli star Kvaratskhelia, who qualifies for his first major tournament with the national team. They will be placed in Group F alongside Turkey, Portugal, and Czech Republic for the main tournament.

Meanwhile, Greece, the champions of the 2004 European Championship, have now failed to qualify for the main tournament for three consecutive editions.
